Ingredients

Salmon Marinade

Honey Sauce (optional)

Instructions

  • Mix together 1/4 cup light brown sugar, 1 tsp of five spice powder, 1 tbsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of sesame oil, 1 tbsp of Shaoxing wine, 2 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tbsp of hoison sauce, 3 tbsp of honey, 1 fermented red bean curd, 1 tbsp of the red bean curd liquid, 2 drops of red food coloring, and 3 cloves of minced garlic.
  • Place salmon in a Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over it. Let it marinate for an hour. For the best flavor, marinate overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to broil. Once done marinating, place the salmon on a baking sheet and broil for 8 minutes.
  • Optional: Mix together 3 tbsp of honey, 3 tsp of water, and 1 drop of red food coloring. Once the salmon is done broiling, take it out and brush on the salmon.
  • Serve with your choice of veggies and rice.

Notes

  1. Store salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  2. For the best flavor, marinate 2 hours or more. Sometimes, I like it do it overnight.
