8 Minute Broiled Char Siu Salmon
If you need a quick and tasty weeknight meal, this Char Siu Salmon is for you. Marinated in the best umami flavored char siu sauce, this addicting salmon recipe will definitely have you and your family going in for seconds. Learn how to make this really easy recipe in my blog post below.

I love making Char Siu Pork specifically because the marinade is so so good! So I had to try it with another protein. This broiled Char Siu Salmon is absolutely the best. The char siu marinade pairs perfectly with salmon. The sweetness from the sugar to the umami flavors from the soy sauce, five spice powder, and fermented red bean curd are the perfect balance of flavors for salmon. My husband says this is the best salmon dish I’ve ever made.

How I developed this Char Siu Salmon recipe
There was nothing crazy about developing this recipe. I simply used the same homemade marinade as my other char siu recipes to marinate my salmon. I tested this recipe 2 times to see how it would taste marinating for different time periods. I marinated it for 1 hour and 2 hours and found that 2 hours definitely tastes better, but if you’re short of time 1 hour works just fine. Ultimately, I decided to use 1 hour for the recipe since it shortens the cook time.
